Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, involves the use of a device with tiny, sterile needles that create controlled micro-injuries on the skin’s surface. These micro-injuries stimulate the skin’s natural healing process, promoting collagen and elastin production. This, in turn, leads to improved skin texture, reduced fine lines, and an overall rejuvenated appearance.
The number of microneedling sessions required varies based on individual skin concerns and goals. Many people see noticeable improvements after just one treatment, but a series of sessions (typically 3 to 6) spaced several weeks apart may be recommended for more comprehensive and lasting results.
Results from microneedling are often progressive, with initial improvements becoming visible within a few days to a week after the treatment. However, the full benefits may take a up to 3 weeks as collagen production continues. Over time, as the skin naturally regenerates, you can experience enhanced texture, diminished fine lines, and a more radiant complexion.
Typically, each session lasts about an hour. We begin by applying numbing cream to ensure your comfort. After allowing at least 30 minutes for the numbing cream to take effect, we proceed with the microneedling treatment
You may experience some redness and mild swelling immediately after the procedure, similar to a mild sunburn. These effects typically subside within a day or two. Some people may notice slight peeling or flakiness as the skin heals. It’s crucial to follow post-treatment care instructions, including avoiding direct sun exposure and using recommended skincare product
- Discontinue Certain Products: Avoid using retinoids and exfoliating agents for a 1 week before the treatment.
- Hydrate: Keep your skin well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment.
- Avoid Sun Exposure: Minimize sun exposure and use sunscreen regularly to protect your skin.
